"There's no revenge in this." Tomasz Siemoniak on the movement against Sławomir Cenckiewicz

"President Nawrocki can appoint anyone he wants to various positions, but the country is governed by regulations," said Tomasz Siemoniak, Minister Coordinator of Special Services, regarding the revocation of access to classified information for Sławomir Cenckiewicz, candidate for head of the National Security Bureau. Siemoniak emphasized that there was no vengeance involved in this action.

- We did not declare war on President Karol Nawrocki - said Tomasz Siemoniak, member of the Council of Ministers and coordinator of special services, in "Graffiti", commenting on the withdrawal of security clearance for access to classified information from Sławomir Cenckiewicz - candidate for the head of the National Security Bureau.

"As for Mr. Cenckiewicz, I could go back to 2023, where in his report he made various baseless accusations against Prime Minister Tusk and me, denying us the right to hold public office. If anyone uses war rhetoric, they should remember what they themselves did," he added.

The minister stated that the matter is meritorious. "The services assess it as clear. The court will continue to decide, and it will be the court that will decide. The services have the right to assess whether someone guarantees confidentiality. In this case, they found that there is no guarantee," he explained.

" President Nawrocki can appoint anyone he wants to various positions , but national regulations apply and must be followed. Even if there is a ruling from the administrative court, it does not clearly mean that the services must grant him such certification. An appeal has been filed, and the case is pending," Siemoniak said.

Siemoniak emphasized that "it's not true that someone outside the Internal Security Agency can grant access to classified information." He added that the position of head of the National Security Bureau (BBN) requires such a certificate to be performed. "But there are specific procedures in the country, and they cannot be bypassed," he emphasized.

" This matter isn't simple, but it's not political . I oppose the use of such commissions for private duels," the minister noted.

The politician emphasized that he doesn't know Cenckiewicz at all. "I've never spoken to him. There's no revenge in refusing to certify . Excellent lawyers who know what they're doing worked on this," he concluded.

On Tuesday , Jacek Dobrzyński, spokesman for the Special Services Coordinator , informed Mr. Sławomir Cenckiewicz that his security clearance for access to classified information had been revoked. He added that the revocation was the result of a vetting investigation by the Military Counterintelligence Service.

The candidate for head of the National Security Bureau addressed this declaration in a short post on his social media profile. "I accept the terms of war! I leave the final word to the lawyers," the historian wrote.

In May, prosecutors charged Cenckiewicz with aiding and abetting the disclosure of fragments of a secret plan for the use of the Polish Armed Forces . The historian allegedly disclosed them while working at the Military Historical Office.

This involves removing the "top secret" and "secret" classifications from strategic-level operational planning documents. These include the WARTA-00101 Plan for the Use of the Polish Armed Forces and the 2015 Political-Strategic Defense Directive of the Republic of Poland. The document recommended that in the event of armed aggression against eastern Poland, Polish forces would withdraw behind the Vistula River.

" Minister Błaszczak then published these fragments in the media – on the official profile of the Law and Justice party on platform X, thereby acting to the detriment of the public interest and causing exceptionally serious damage to the Republic of Poland," the prosecutor's office said.
